Joining forces for deaf and hard-of-hearing people fleeing Ukraine
Dear Supporters,
As a profoundly hearing-impaired person and the owner of littlebeara.com, my mission now is to support those of the deaf and hard-of-hearing community who need help.
We are watching the events of the Russian-Ukrainian war with concern and anxiety, which is causing a humanitarian crisis. Out of Ukraine's population of 44 million, 2 million people have left the country so far, and the number of refugees is unfortunately expected to rise. Among them, people with disabilities are particularly vulnerable. We want to help them with the Beara brand (www.littlebeara.com).
We are joining the initiative of the Hungarian National Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (SINOSZ) and will make the donations collected with Beara available to the organisation. SINOSZ's crisis management team supports deaf and hard-of-hearing people fleeing the war in Ukraine, giving them support in this unexpected and difficult situation. The money raised will be used to cover the costs of food, sanitation and full care for the refugees for an unforeseen period. Any remaining funds will be transferred to the Ukrainian Association of the Deaf.
